‘This is idiotic. Why’d I agree to this?’ Hidetaka moaned stepping into his wooden crate. There was space enough for him to curl up, like all the other crates, when the lid was nailed into place. A pair of air holes had been drilled into one of the corners.
‘Most fun I’ve had all month,’ Dai guffawed leaping over the side of a box. He nestled in, holding his sword in one hand beside him. ‘Sayo, having fun yet?’ The onnamusha scowled over at the man and huffed before disappearing into her wooden fort. ‘Alright then,’ Dai said shrugging.
‘Shh. Words carry further at night,’ Sada said heaving the lid to Hidetaka’s crate into place. The ronin cursed, his words muffled against the wooden walls of his cell. Sailors hammered the nails staking the ronin to the wheel of fate.
