Long ago the Great Emperor of the Vast Green Sea conqueored the world, from desert to mountains, from mountains to sea. He claimed the city of Gör Khān for himself and presented the ancient city of Silicia to his brother. More than two centuries have past since then and King Lobahan of Silicia rules his peninsula with a fair and gentle hand but he, like his father before him, refuses to send tribute to the Great Emperor, now a distant foreign ruler. The Great Emperor seeks to recitify the obstinance and has sent an army in order to rule the world as his ancestor once did…
Tebin son of Tegar is among the first to see the brutality of the Gör Khāni as they raid his home and put his village to the sword. Tebin and his sister Chuli manage to flee but the refugees and orphans threaten to eat the walled city of Silicia into famine. With the Gör Khāni host advancing the boy must become a man and defend his sister and homeland…
Prince Lothan, once-a-hero now a drunk, is summoned to rally the bannermen of Silicia scattered across the peninsula, blessed to be at the end of the world. Yet that heroic spirit is buried deep and will need rekindling if Silicia is to survive the coming doom…
