Vey well written. I like the tension and the sense of pervading doom. The language is clear and crisp, the character well drawn. The history of the Colony, the Religion, the explaining the Husks and how they raise up from the dead. Excellent detailing. You can see and hear the gate as it opens; see the hundreds of thousands of Husks about to attack. Very enjoyable. Once again, you set the bar high.

I had in mind something like that for the superweapon, though not on the same scale, and it was a close call whether anyone survived. You know, Thermopylae never came to mind but it should have 😂
