Introduction
Cassida Rane is a Mage Hunter of the Castrum. An expert in combatting the arcane and the occult, he is the shadow in the night that prevents sorcerers from destroying cities, enslaving the commonfolk, and ushering forth the demonic.
A murder-by-magic in the city of Arstar, the untimely death of the Order of the Mage Hunter’s Grandmaster, and an unusual concentration of Cartographers’ Guild workers in the mountains near Arstar all entangle Cassida Rane in a menacing plot that threatens to end the world as he knows it.
